First aid Made Dec 8, 2013, sent to the company Dec 16, 2013, published by CPSC Dec 31, 2013
The product, in the report: Bed Head BH311 Blue Raspberry Conical Styler http://www.amazon.com/Bed-Head-BH311-Raspberry-Conical/dp/B007ISRNCA/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
My boyfriend’s daughter bought the Bed Head BH311 Conical Styler from the BedHead Amazon store (she is 13). A few days ago I saw a bad burn on her hand and asked her what happened. She said that she burned it with the curling iron. That the tip of the iron brushed across her hand. She was using the protective glove, but there is only one, and that was on her other hand.
Then two days ago I used her curling iron. I have been a professional hairstylist for 10 years, and I burned myself quite bad with it. The tip just barely brushed across my forearm, but the tip of the iron is extremely hot. It should have a protective plastic tip that prevents the end from getting hot.
It is not sold as a professional product, but even as a professional, I think this curling iron is quite dangerous. I read a few reviews on Amazon, and found several people complaining about getting burned with this iron because the tip is hot.
