The product, in the report: Product category: Personal Care / Beauty Product Product name: BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Flat Iron Brand: BaBylissPRO Model number: K353MP Serial number: BNT4094TUC
During normal use, the handle of the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium flat iron became excessively hot. While holding the device as intended, I suffered a minor burn on my hand. The handle should remain safe to hold during operation, and this level of heat represents a safety concern. The product was used according to the instructions and without misuse.

The product, in the report: BaByliss PRO Nano Titanium Prima 3000 Ionic Straightener model number babs3000t purchase 10-6-18
The other day my BaByliss PRO Nano Titanium Prima 3000 Ionic Straightener Model number babs3000t purchased 10-6-18 was plugged in, but not turned on. It started smoking and popping and the dials started blinking rapidly. It was hot to the touch when I got it unplugged and the place where the two areas connect was fried. It could’ve started a fire if we weren’t home so I thought I’d mention it to someone in case this was a reoccurring incident.

The product, in the report: Blue baby bliss pro hair straightener Per picture from submitter: Model: BABNT2091
I went to turn on my baby bliss pro straightener and was going to straighten my hair . After waiting 2-3 for it to heat up , I began to straighten and the straightener melted in half in my hands and fell into my hair. After letting go of the melting straightener (bc it was hot ) I let it cool and then peeled out the plastic that was melted throughout my hair . I now have to spend money on extensions bc most my hair was melted with the plastic .

9-24-16 Message to Babyliss Pro Customer Service & the CPSC
On September 22, 2016, my wife turned on her Babyliss Pro heated hair curlers and placed one in her hair before realizing that the curlers were so overheated that they were actually melting. Fortunately, she was able to get the curler out of her hair with only a mild burn to her scalp, and she quickly unplugged the unit. Attached are photos of one melted curler and the box of curlers, the latter of which shows other melted curlers inside. We thought you and the Consumer Products Safety Commission should be advised so that other consumers are alerted to this problem. I suspect that your unit has a defective thermostat, which allowed the dangerous overheating.

First aid Made Mar 8, 2016, sent to the company Mar 16, 2016, published by CPSC Mar 30, 2016
The product, in the report: Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium Straightening Iron 1.75 Inch BY CONAIR
I bought a Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium Straightening Iron 1.75 Inch - Blue in mid November 2015. I used it and the very first time it gave me a big burn on my left cheek. I thought I should be more careful and considered the burn a result of my use rather than a product defect. I have used the product 2-3 time every month since then and it has burnt me almost everytime regardless of how careful I am. i have various burns on my cheeks and on my ears where it most usually gets you how much ever slow and careful you are. i am now concluding it is an extremely unsafe product that is unsafe to be used by people. it gives extremely bad burns and those are inevitable with use. i have tried every trick to not burn myself because other than the burn the straightening function of the iron is actually pretty good. however, it is impossible to use the product without burning your skin. This is bad product design that is unsafe to be sol. I paid about 180-200 dollars for this and wanted a solution to straighten my hair. this is a product that straightens at the cost of consumer safety and is not suitable to be sold in the open market.

The product, in the report: Mini Blue Electric Flat Iron, On/Off switch Model number is BABNT3050
I was injured when my electric flat irons caught my hair on fire on Sunday December 12, 2010 while I was doing my hair The flat irons are BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium. I purchased them from Cosmo Prof in Livonia, MI. Cosmo Prof only sells to licensed Cosmotolgist. I shampooed my hair on Sunday December 12, 2010 at approximately noon. I blow dried my hair and plugged in the flat irons to heat up. I was almost finished flat ironing my hair when I got an shock in my hair while the flat irons were in my hair. the spark cause my hair to catch on fire. I wasn’t able to get to my doctor until Wednesday. According to my doctor I suffered 1st degree burns, I purchased this flat iron in September, but didn’t open the package until about 2 weeks ago. I am a licensed cosmotolgist.
Than again today April 19, 2012 at 5:20pm I was using a different pair of the BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium flat irons when they sparked in the handle while laying on a towel while I was parting my hair. I have the original packing for both flat irons and the flats irons themselves.
I contacted the company in January of 2011 and notified them of the problem with the first pair and to this day they have not responded.
