The product, in the report: Warner’s Bra: No Side Effects Full-Coverage T-Shirt Bra with Lift, in Rich Black color, Kohl’s item number RD0561A Exact item at: http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-2126270/warners-bra-no-side-effects-full-coverage-t-shirt-bra-with-lift-rd0561a.jsp?pfm=rrrecs-pdp-gtab1

On November 25, 2015, I purchased Warner’s No Side Effects Lace Underwire Bra in Black from a Kohl’s store in Santa Rosa, CA. A few weeks later, I wore it for the first time. I forgot to wash the bra before wearing it, as I had with the other No Side Effects bras I purchased on the same day.

In a few hours, the bra caused so much itching I had to remove it. When I did, I found a red rash and raised, red bumps in exactly the shape of the bra, down to the lines of the shoulder straps. Other bumps had a hard, white, almost fluid looking center surrounded by red margins, and were hard as gravel. By the following morning, the rash had spread to my torso, back, and upper chest. Fortunately, I thought to take photos to track its progression and healing.

I treated the rash by taking [REDACTED], applying [REDACTED] cream multiple times a day, everything I could think of. Nothing worked. The itching was so maddening I scratched my skin open and could not sleep at night. Multiple times each night, I would get up and apply cold washcloths followed by [REDACTED] cream, in an attempt to calm the rash down enough to be able to fall asleep.

During the day, it was almost unbearable to have fabric next to my skin, and I could not stand to wear any bra at all. As I own and operate my own business, this lack of sleep and discomfort with clothing made focus on work and visits to client sites particularly challenging.

After about two weeks of this, with no improvement in the rash, I saw a dermatologist at a local research university. He ordered blood work and took a 4mm core biopsy of one of the hard, white bumps, as he said he’d never seen anything like it before. He also prescribed a strong topical steroid that has helped somewhat but, four weeks later, the rash and maddening itching remain. Soon, we should have more information on what the rash is and, hopefully, what may have caused it.

Previously, I have never had a rash. I have never had any skin problems — no rashes, eczema, acne, nothing of the sort.

With the help of a scientist friend, I have found two textile testing labs where I will pay to send segments of the bra to be tested for whatever may be in and/or on them.

Buyer beware with these bras. I would not wish this experience on anyone.
