The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Dec 7, 2024, sent to the company Dec 10, 2024, published by CPSC Dec 26, 2024

The product, in the report: A heavy duty apron marketed for shop use, with heavy fabric, many pockets, and straps that put weight on shoulders instead of neck.

The straps have no buckles, clasps or retainers, so loose strap ends dangle. I tied a knot, it worked loose over time as I worked at ground level. I unknowingly stood on the strap tails, causing me to trip and fall as I stood up. I stopped using the product entirely upon identifying the risk of the strap tails getting caught in machinery. I physically mailed a complaint reporting my concerns to [REDACTED], Carhartt, [REDACTED] Dearborn, MI, 48126; on or about September 25 2024, requesting confirmation that the product I received is as designed and any mitigating actions Carhartt has taken. I received no response by December 7 2024.
