The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Gillette Proglide power razor - shaving razor

About 2 months ago I have bought at Costco a Gillette Proglide Power razor. I have used this razor about 8 times and this morning while I was using the razor, the on/off switch blew off - I heard a gunshot sound and felt like something scratched my finger and when I look at the razor the switch cover was missing and I immediately took out the battery to switch the razor off, as it was still working without the switch cover.

The product, in the report: battery operated razor

I was shaving in the shower with my Gillette Fusion Power Razor. When finished I turned off the razor and placed it on a shelf in the shower. I turned to rinse my face and heard a loud bang followed by my razor hitting the floor of the shower. Two small pieces of plastic were on the shower floor along with the razor. The on/off button was gone from the razor and the razor would no longer turn on. I was not injured, but am concerned that had the explosion happen when the razor was near my face I might not have been so lucky. I call it an explosion because it had enough force to knock the razor off the shelf and over a 1/2” lip on the shelf. I have advised Gillette of what happened and am awaiting a response. If other people have had this problem there may need to be a recall or redesign of the product. Thank you for your attention to this matter
