The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

Made May 7, 2026, sent to the company May 11, 2026, published by CPSC May 26, 2026

The product, in the report: Product: BIC Flex4 Disposable Razor

Product: BIC Flex4 Disposable RazorIncident Description:While using a new BIC Flex4 disposable razor for a standard shave, the blade head exhibited a significant failure in precision and safety. Specifically, the blades “skipped” and “caught” against the skin in the subnasal area, resulting in a deep, painful laceration to the underside of the nose. The injury occurred during normal, light-pressure use of the product. The design of the multi-blade head appears to lack the necessary clearance or alignment for safe facial contouring, leading to an immediate and significant injury. I have preserved the razor for forensic inspection and have documented the injury with photographic evidence. This product is, in my professional estimation, economically and functionally unviable for safe consumer use.

The product, in the report: Product name: Bic Soleil Comfort Length: Approx 5 inches Width: Approx 1.5 inches at widest point Color: Assorted Purchase date: August 6, 2022 Retailer: Walmart I no longer have the package. SKU and UPC are best estimates based on research of the product and retailer.

I have been using the Bic Soleil razors for 2 years. I usually only get minor cuts from these razors. But today I got a 4 inch cut on my lower thigh and a deep gash in the back of my ankle that bled onto the shower floor. I needed 6 bandages in total. This was a brand new razor. I used warm water and good quality shaving cream. I did not apply much force and I followed package directions. I am not a hemophiliac, nor am I on blood thinners.
