The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

We purchased several of these outdoor umbrellas from Bed, Bath & Beyond “W Home™ 9-Foot Striped Cabana Umbrella”. The second day we had one up at home and secured in a heavy duty base a gust of wind caused the hollow aluminum pole to break in half. The top half of the umbrella with the very jagged (and potentially lethal edge) blew across the yard. The other half remained in the base. We immediately contacted BB&B and they did a prompt exchange. We thought that this particular umbrella (we have several) was probably defective. Then, the exact same happened again with another umbrella at our business after having it for 2 days past the 30 day refund period. The store would not send a replacement or issue a refund. This happened on 6/4/21 and 10/9/21 at both our home and business/cafe.
