The product, in the report: 11-Foot Round Solar Cantilever Umbrella. https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/11-foot-round-solar-cantilever-umbrella/5221344?keyword=quantity-11-foot-round-cantilever-umbrella-with-solar-lights SKU 43031276

I just purchased an 11 foot round solar cantilevered patio umbrella from Bed bath and Beyond. It can be seen at this webpage https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/11-foot-round-solar-cantilever-umbrella/5221344?keyword=quantity-11-foot-round-cantilever-umbrella-with-solar-lights. I believe Bed Bath & Beyond just started selling this umbrella.

The base of the one that I received is 35 1/2 inches in diameter and is round. The one shown in the photo is square. The base has a bright yellow warning label stuck on top of it. It says to fill the base with no less than 190 pounds of wet sand. The base holds only 125 pounds of sand and with water to wet all of it less than 2 gallons of water which is another 16lbs. The umbrella is very tippy. I can hold onto the vertical shaft and easily rock the umbrella. This is very unstable and unsafe. For the time being I have added two 50 pound bags of sand on top of the base for a total of 225 lbs.I will have the umbrella available for you to look at if you wish. I am not the only person to mention this. I called BB&B today someone is apparently going to report it to their products division. Note that you recalled BB&B’s13 foot cantilever umbrella just yesterday for a different reason. Before retiring I was a products liability attorney. I know that this is a dangerous item and someone is going to be seriously injured. I have previously reported a dangerous product to you which was recalled. BB&B may have just started selling this product due to the recall of their 13 foot umbrella. BB&B is sending me a $70 gift card to cover the cost of buying a second base that I can put on top of the first base. That will give me over 250 pounds of sand and should secure the umbrella rather well. It’s going to look funny but at least it’s safe. BB&B should sell this with a deeprt base that holds a sufficient amount of sand. Note that the instructions say to use wet sand. That is ludicrous as the sand will dry out and become dry sand and will be lighter.
