The product, in the report: The product case has a hard durable shell that encloses a handheld wand for inserting many different sizes and shapes of nail file attachments as well as a power adapter cable. The wiring for the power adapter is a spiral wire that is supposed to have a protective covering to prevent shock. When I contacted Homedics about power adapter cord replacement they stated that the product is discontinued. However, I believe that public should be warned that the cord covering is flawed and poses a potential risk of shock.
I purchased a Homedics Nail spa kit that included a power adapter. This same adapter power cord covering began to crumble with only a few years of use. I disposed of the power adapter due to the covering no longer protecting the wiring. I believe this same power adapter could pose a risk of shock with continued use because of the lack of wire covering.
