  1. First aid

Made Jan 8, 2019, sent to the company Feb 4, 2019, published by CPSC Feb 27, 2019

The product, in the report: Baby bib sold at Walmart retailer. Appears to be a Walmart only brand based on identification markings on tag. Tag on product reads: RN 52469 0 14681 01551 2 GPU 35817 NC

I was feeding my 6-month-old baby a bottle and he went to the bathroom halfway through his feeding so I stopped to change him. I carried him to his crib and grabbed a diaper and wipes at which time I saw he was pulling his bib over his face and then proceeded to cry. I removed his bib and picked him up and saw that his neck had a large bleeding abrasion. The scrape/cut was approximately 4 inches long in the same area where the bib had been sitting around his neck. Upon looking at the bib after the incident the edge where the velcro is attached appears to be very sharp. This was only the second time I have used this type of bib. I received these at my baby shower but just decided to try them for the first time last night because they are supposed to be easier to rinse out since they are made of a stiffer vinyl material.
