Hurt, no treatment Made Mar 18, 2026, sent to the company Mar 23, 2026, published by CPSC Apr 6, 2026
The product, in the report: Multiple handbags from the Telfar brand, including jelly shopper bags (small and medium sizes in clear black and purple), crinkle shopper bags (UGG x Telfar collaboration in white), and mini string bags in various colors (orange, grey, black). Items were new and packaged together in a sealed cardboard shipping box. I was unable to fully inspect or confirm all items due to immediate exposure to strong chemical fumes upon opening the package. Per order the products name are: Melissa x Telfar Medium Jelly Shopper Clear Black Melissa x Telfar Medium Jelly Shopper Purple Melissa x Telfar Small Jelly Shopper Purple Small Shopping Bag Cerulean UGG x Telfar Small Shopper Crinkle White UGG x Telfar Medium Shopper Crinkle White Mini String Bag Vivid Orange Mini String Bag Heather Grey Mini String Bag Black
I opened a newly delivered box containing Telfar handbags. Immediately upon opening, a strong chemical odor was released. Within seconds I became dizzy, short of breath, and nearly fainted. I began coughing and vomiting and had to leave the area. The box was moved to the garage, but symptoms persisted, including ongoing dizziness and breathing difficulty. My inhaler did not relieve symptoms, which is different from my usual asthma response. I stopped activity and rested for the remainder of the day.
