  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Nov 29, 2017, sent to the company Mar 23, 2018, published by CPSC Apr 6, 2018

The product, in the report: New! DAWN LUXE Premium Latex-Free Ultra with ultra plush lining, Embossed palm grip, Lining infused with moisturizer for softer hands. One pair in the box, size L, color dark blue. Picture on the front shows a person with the gloves holding and washing a metal pot with a white handled scrub brush. On the back of the box: These golves are made from proprietary latex free blend. They are an excellent alternative for those individuals who are allergic to natural rubber latex while providing the closest fit and feel to a latex glove . . . These Gloves can be used for Cleaning, Dishes, Kitchen. There is a diagram with a hand

We started using the Dawn LUXE Premium Latex-Free dish washing gloves over a month ago but have since stopped. Initially, after a few days of use, I noticed tackiness when touching the tips of the fingers to the thumb. My first thought was how terrific that these gloves were made with such grip and grab. Over time, however, the tackiness increased. I started noticing an increased gooiness, where when touching the tip of a finger to the thumb, and then spreading them apart, a sticky material stretched across the gap. My wife had mentioned a day or two earlier how a metal mixing bowl was not cleaned well and had residue that, even after repeated scrubbing, she could not remove. I began noticing the same residue on our stainless steel pans and lids, as well as our metal spoons and knives. There was also a distinct pattern, which, in addition to noticing the glove stickiness, helped me make the connection. The gloves, as you would see, have a cross hatched pattern which was visible on the metal surfaces.

I am very concerned because the sticky material in the glove is extremely difficult to remove from even stainless steel surfaces with soap and water. Furthermore, my wife and I were cooking our food in pots with this product, certainly ingesting whatever proprietary chemical was used. I suspect these gloves cannot withstand the heat of kitchen water used in dish washing. I am experiencing abdominal aches as is my son as of last night. My wife is having stomach pain too as of this morning. I am concerned that the disintegrated chemical from the gloves has tainted the food we ingested in that period and possibly on now. I think perhaps it could even be on some dishes we still use. I am concerned about this product and would like to warn others against using these gloves, certainly against using them while doing dishes.
