The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Infant clothing: a cotton blend onesie with wooden buttons. See https://oliveandscout.com/collections/newborn-girls/products/haven-one-piece

We had purchased a onesie (style: “Haven”, see https://oliveandscout.com/collections/newborn-girls/products/haven-one-piece) from the online retailer, Olive+Scout, for our newborn. The item appeared intact, and the first time we had our month-old son wear it, within 20 minutes we noticed that one of the buttons on the front had split into layers and one of the layers had come off as a thin, sharp piece. This is a choking and cutting hazard and contacted Olive+Scout to urge them to contact their manufacturer (presumably in China, since the item had for some reason been shipped directly from China) and to consider recalling and no longer selling the product with these buttons. I also posted a product review with the above information on the Olive+Scout website to warn other parents against buying this dangerous product, and when I didn’t hear back from the company, went back to see if they had responded there — only to find that they had removed the review. This is very concerning as the company is actively disguising information about unsafe products.
