How badly anyone was hurt

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Nordstrom (branded product) Solid Convertible Romper (Baby) in blue flax; sizes 6 months and 9 months

We bought the Nordstrom (brand) Solid Convertible Romper in 2 infant sizes for our baby. When he was old enough to wear the 6 month one, we noticed that the top snap was missing the first time that he wore it. We thought it was just damaged so he never wore it again. When he was old enough to wear the 9 month size, we noticed that the top snap was missing on the front of the romper, but the back part that sticks through the fabric with sharp prongs was coming off the back.

We washed both outfits in cold water and on delicate and laid them flat to dry. The top snap came off both sizes, and this is a significant choking hazard and risk for esophageal damage given the sharp prongs.

I contacted Nordstrom’s Customer Service, and they just told me to start a return. This is an unsafe product, and they didn’t even acknowledge that.
