  1. No one hurt

Made Feb 15, 2013, sent to the company Feb 27, 2013, published by CPSC Mar 21, 2013

The product, in the report: Matilda Jane Clothing Driftwood Lap dress size 6. It is a blue-ish color with birds and clouds.

Found a 3.5” rusted sewing needle sewn into the inside back of a brand new dress for my little girl. It was poking her in the back. It had a hooked end and a little spur under the hook and was rusty towards the bottom. Could have been very dangerous if it was not spotted. Could have punctured my daughters back if she fell or poked her eye out putting it on or taking it off. She is 3 years old. This is a dress for a toddler. My baby. I am so glad that nothing serious happened. Not to mention the diseases that could have come from a foreign country on a nasty sewing needle.

The product, in the report: the matilda jane size 6 birds of a feather lap dress. it is short sleeved and teal/green/blue colored. from the Matilda Jane clothing winter release.

I ordered from the Matilda Jane winter product line. I took the Matilda Jane Birds of a Feather lap dress out of it’s bag carefully trying not to touch any areas. another mother’s child had already had a rash to the clothing line. i never assumed it would happen to our family. I removed it carefully anyway and put my left arm inside the dress to turn it inside out to wash it in warm water. part of the dress touched my inner arm at the elbow when i was turning it inside out. I washed it and put it through an extra rinse cycle on warm water. later that day i began to feel my inner left arm itching. i looked at it and saw a rash developing. i did not know the cause immediately. the rash did not go away. i took a picture of the rash with my cell phone camera. it began to get worse. I saw the other moms post pictures of their rashes on their children on the website Matilda Jane Addicts to try to figure out which items the clothing came from. their rashes looked just like mine. we have many children plus my rash in the group and have collected many photographs. my rash has still not completely gone away. I want to know what we all came in contact with. I sent a picture and email to the company and many of the other victims did too. the company said they had already reported it to you. i don’t believe them because none of these winter items have been recalled. i want to be sure you know that this clothing is still being sold and that they are causing rashes. the company said they could recommend no treatment for me. i need to know what to do. i and many others have pictures if needed. it happened thanksgiving day because that is when i washed it. i don’t know the exact date of thanksgiving this year but you will know. thank you. i would appreciate your guidance. i do still have the item after washing it. i just left it hanging and never touched it or let my daughter touch the dress again. i wanted to see if it needs testing.
