The product, in the report: The product was a pair of ladies fleece footless tights (in black) from Grocery Outlet, Midtown Sacramento or East Sacramento, California. The product number is GOI Item 705923. I have the tights, the original cardboard container, the cotton balls used to extract chemical from my skin, but not the original receipt. Model GOI Item 705923 UPC 7 31351 26956 2

I purchased a pair of fleece tights from a Grocery Outlet in Sacramento, California. The item number was GOI Item 705923. I put on the tights without washing them yesterday morning, and by afternoon, I was quite ill for no explicable reason. I suspected Covid, or a virus, but had no fever, cough, or other symptoms of an infection. Yet, I was in bed for hours, very ill. I used an alcohol swab (alcohol on cotton) to give myself my nightly injection of prescription medication and noticed the cotton ball was a dark orange color where I had swabbed my skin. I suspected the tights, and swabbed numerous other areas of my abdomen, backside, and legs, and all were bright orange. The tights were black, so whatever had come into contact with my skin was not a dye. I showered and scrubbed my skin multiple times with soap. Then, I called my doctor and California Poison Control to report what had happened. Today, I contacted Grocery Outlet and your agency. I presume whatever sickened me was a fire retardant or other chemical. Have no idea what chemical or the dose. Am feeling slightly better, but still not well today. I have photos of the tights, their original cardboard holder/label, and a baggie with the cotton balls and extracted substance from my body.
