  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Apr 11, 2022, sent to the company Apr 14, 2022, published by CPSC Apr 28, 2022

The product, in the report: George brand super soft stretch lounge pants L 36-38, model number GE13100068790, blue, $16.98, barcode number 889424140352; George brand super soft stretch hooded shirt, M (32-34), grey/black, $16.98. Found them on the same rack in the store in the Men’s department. RN# 52469

Recently purchased a hooded shirt and lounge pants from a Walmart store in Palmyra, PA that was causing my partner to experience breathlessness and weird bodily sensations. After ruling out other possibilities I started to do more research about his symptoms and found that Rayon, of which the fabrics of the shirt had 33% of and the pants 60%, is known to be made with the toxic chemical Carbon Disulfide. I looked up the Right to Know sheet on this chemical and the side effects of exposure perfectly matched what we had experienced while wearing the clothing. We both experienced breathlessness and tightness in our chest as well as lightheadedness. My partner experienced weird cooling/burning sensations while wearing the pants, mostly when the fabric was pulled tight against his skin (like when he would be sitting). Thankfully upon removing the garments, the side effects quickly subsided. The model number for the pants is GE13100068790, it is George brand stretch super soft lounge pants. I do not have the model number for the shirt.

The product, in the report: George brand dress, tan with gold sequins. Hi low style, sequins in rose patterns on chest portion of dress. Size 6/6x barcode 191647646079 The following is also on the tag WMGED140A255-0717 I had just bought the dress the day of the incident so I have the dress and the tag

I bought a dress from my local Walmart store that had sequins on the chest portion of the dress. The dress was a size 6/6x for my 5 year old daughter. After wearing this dress for approximately 30 minutes she came to me and said she wanted to take off the dress because it was cutting her. Her upper arms and portions of her lower arms were covered in scratches from the sequins on the dress and when she took the dress off one of the sequins scratched her face. I took photos of the injuries. No dress for a child should be made with materials that cut the skin!!!
