The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Clothing from China advertised as ‘Japanese Art Collection’ style on website “comstylish.com” with payee on [REDACTED] as “Life Be Wonderful” https://lifebewonderful.com/ service@newgodshop.com The receiver of this payment is Non-US - Verified

I purchased several items of clothing described online as 95% cotton an/or linen. When I got them, these seemed like polyester, but I thought it might be sizing, so I washed them. The texture changed and I thought they might be some kind of blend I’d be willing to wear. I trimmed a swatch from the seam of one garment in order to see what happened if I held a match to it, because that is an easy way to test for polyester in fabric (poly will melt along the edges). To my horror, the entire swatch burned very rapidly, with toxic black smoke, with residue of black melted plastic falling into the sink (of course I did this test over a sink). I don’t want to see anyone wear this clothing. Contact with a match, cigarette, stove or candle could cause severe injury or death while wearing. The prints are beautiful and I would be terrified to ever wear them. I also don’t want to give them away or return them to be sold to someone else. There is no fabric content label on the clothing itself, and the website states absolutely false information about the fabic content. I have no way of knowing if the seller knows that the fabric content is wrong. I am keeping these items for now in hopes that CPSC will test them more scientifically than I can. These are being sold by “Life Be Wonderful” https://lifebewonderful.com/ service@newgodshop.com items listed on the website “comstylish.com” The receiver of this payment is Non-US - Verified
