The product, in the report: Terry Cloth Robe, Stripe from LLBean website where ordered Premium Turkish terry cloth for that perfect blend of softness and absorbency Thick and fluffy Beefy 12.5 oz. terry gets softer with every wash It feels great to slip into a thick, fluffy robe after a shower or a swim – especially when it’s this robe. Made of premium Turkish cotton terry cloth, it offers an ideal balance of softness and absorbency. The fine, low-twist fibers are expertly woven with large, even loops, making the towel-like fabric very soft and extra absorbent. More air is trapped in these loops, keeping you warm and allowing the robe to dry efficiently. The beefy 12.5 oz. terry will get more comfortable and absorbent each time it’s washed. Shawl collar, two front pockets and tie belt. Imported. Machine wash and dry.

my LLBean bath robe caught fire when cleaning my wood pellet stove. I was quickly engulfed in flames.

The product, in the report: Men’s terry cloth robe

6/5/2012) The consumer stated that he is a stay at home dad and does everything in his robe. While wearing the robe, he reached for a pot over his stove, the sleeve of the robe caught fire and rapidly spread to the back of the robe. The consumer threw the robe on the floor and immediately extinguished the flames. He did not sustain any burns from the incident.

Note: The consumer said he has been wearing this robe for approximately 3 months (since purchase) and cooks while wearing it every morning. This was the 1st incident.

Approximately 2 weeks ago the manufacturer was contacted. A representative expressed her concerns and took note of the situation. He did not ask for any compensation or refund of any kind.

The consumer’s concern was with how fast the flames had spread from his sleeve to the back of the robe. He also mentioned that there was no label warning on flammability of the material.
