  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Jul 9, 2026, sent to the company Jul 23, 2026, published by CPSC Aug 6, 2026

The product, in the report: 2-Sided pocket mirror with LED lights, travel makeup mirror, folding, handheld, small. There are multiple brands/sellers selling these mirrors with an easily accessible coin cell battery compartment. These mirrors come in bright/fun colors that are appealing to kids.

My 3yr old daughter was gifted a LED 2 sided small/pocket mirror that was purchased from Amazon.com. Upon arrival, I inspected it and noticed the battery compartment was easy to access and contained two button/coin cell batteries. I promptly removed the batteries, reattched the battery cover and handed it to my daughter to see if she would attempt to open the battery compartment door. Within a few minutes she had easily opened the battery door and likely would have removed the batteries and placed in her mouth as she still likes to put things/objects in her mouth. If I had left the batteries installed, she could have removed them, swallowed the batteries, choked or ingested the batteries causing serious injuy/chemical burns. There are multiple brands/sellers on Amazon selling the same or similar mirror that my daughter received. These items can easily be found if you search “LED pocket mirrors” on Amazon.com.
