The product, in the report: Google Pixel Watch 2 Matte Black Aluminum Case / Obsidian Active Band Wifi
One of the two metal plates on the back of my Pixel Watch 2 spontaneously detached. This plate is very thin and sharp and could have lacerated my wrist causing potentially severe injury if I had not noticed. There was no physical impact to the device nor any other obvious reason for this plate to detach, the plate just came off on its own. The plate that detached has the following text etched on it “Google Pixel Watch 2 IP68 Water Resistant 50m”.

The product, in the report: Google Pixel Watch (1st gen) smartwatch.
Safety incident Google Pixel Watch overheated & burn. Opened Fitbit app because recent cardio hadnt synced. Watch vibrated, then powered off; pressing the side button showed a dead-battery icon. Within seconds, the back of the watch became extremely hot and burned my wrist, leaving a visible mark. The back sensor array now shows discolorationone of the four black bars turned white. For safety I did not power it on or charge it; I cooled the burn under running water and isolated the watch on a non-flammable surface. Photos of the injury, device, and dead-battery screen attached. Purchase Oct 2023; Google Support has escalated to the safety team to provide callback.
