Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Jul 24, 2026, sent to the company Jul 29, 2026, published by CPSC Aug 12, 2026

The product, in the report: Garmin Fenix 6s Pro GPS watch in white and rose gold

The heart rate sensor on my Garmin Fenix 6s Pro watch partially detached causing the watch to electrically shock my wrist, leaving a burn mark. I was wearing the watch while swimming in our local fresh water lake. I was swimming out to the 100 foot buoy and back to the shore. The watch notified me that the move bar was cleared shortly after reaching the buoy. When I exited the lake, the watch face was black as though the battery was suddenly dead. Although the battery had been over 50% prior to swimming. I removed the watch and placed it in my bag. When I arrived home, I placed the watch back on my wrist and received multiple electrical shocks. At first I thought the watch was pinching my wrist, as I attempted to remove the watch, it became apparent it was shocking me and the sensor on the back of the watch became too hot to touch. I immediately removed the watch and monitored the temperature until it was cooled. I did not attempt to wear the watch again.

The product, in the report: Garmin Venu 2 smart watch. Blue. 45mm.

Garmin Venu 2 would turn off at random. When I was wearing it today it started making a sizzling noise and got extremely hot on my wrist. There was a metal burning odor from the watch and you can see the screen is burnt on the inside. Watch will no longer power on. Looks like part of the bottom started to melt as well.
