The product, in the report: Pocket watch
Golden State International (P.O.Box 31088 Oakland,CA 94604//815 Atlantic Ave.Alameda,CA 94501) sells pocket watches under license from Coleman. The crystal on these watches are defective and shatter easily when pressure is applied. This is what happened after I replaced the battery and closed the cover (model 40-347).
I contacted Golden State International (GSI) and told them the problem; told them I disposed of this unsafe watch; and asked if they are going to flx the problem. Their first response accused me of not knowing what I was doing. When I informed GSI I purchase watch batteries in bulk, they offered to replace the watch for $7.50 if I send them the watch they know was disposed.
I asked myself: ‘Why would I acquire another hazardous watch?’. Since GSI’s only response is to replace, I fear they are knowing selling potentially hazardous watches.
