The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: A set of two, silver-colored clip-on earrings

My wife and I purchased a set of “Clip-on earrings” from a local Wal-Mart Superstore in Mesa, Arizona this past July for our three-year-old daughter [REDACTED]. On Friday, 9 AUgust 2013 my wife [REDACTED] discivered that the metal clip of the earrings had punctured both of [REDACTED] ear lobes and completely passed through the entire cartilage structure of the ear lobe. [REDACTED] contraced infections in both of her ears, and now has moderate-sized holes where the earrings punctured the cartilage of the ear lobes. These holes, according to [REDACTED] physician, will take an extraordinarily long time to heal, if they do heal, because the cartilage of the ear does not regenerate as tissue does.
