Emergency room Made Jan 1, 2023, sent to the company Jan 5, 2023, published by CPSC Jan 20, 2023
The product, in the report: Hermione Time Turner necklace purchased at Universal Studios. It’s a gold plated necklace with a miniature hour glass inside rotating rings that have an etched inscription on it. It’s a replica of Hermione Granger’s necklace from Harry Potter. It has an adjustable chain from 16 inches to 22 inches in length.
My 11 year old daughter was wearing the Hermione Time Turner necklace. She was leaning over to plug in her charger. The length of the necklace and weight from the time turner caused it to swing into the plug of the charger as it made contact with the outlet. It happened very quickly. It caused a current to travel through the long chain around her neck. She grabbed it to pull it off. It caused 2nd and 3rd degree burns on the side of her face, neck, and hands. She had to have an EKG to check her heart and will potentially need skin grafts for her burns.
