  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 12, 2014, sent to the company Apr 21, 2014, published by CPSC May 12, 2014

The product, in the report: cognac rounded beads amber teething necklace; a necklace advertised to be worn by infants, babies, and toddlers.

There is a product being manufactured by an international company located in the United Kingdom and using a website address, “amberslumber.com”, which is producing baby necklaces to placed around an infant’s neck, around a baby’s neck, and around a toddler’s neck. This necklace is a complete violation to the safety of any baby of any age, including toddlers. This necklace can be broken easily, a baby can easily grab the string of beads, put this string of beads in his mouth or her mouth, swallow and choke, or swallow and not choke and just stop breathing because a baby cannot cough up anything obstructing its ability to breath since a baby does not have the strength nor the intellect to do so. This necklace was placed on a baby by its parents and I warned the father not to use this and to throw this necklace away for the reasons stated in this report. There is no injury to report, only to say that it is imperative that our government do everything to ensure the safety of each baby in this country so that parents are not buying this necklace. Death is certain if a baby cannot save his own or her own life and obstruction of breathing occurs. Please remove this product from our country and make sure it is never to be sold in any way whatsoever in our country.
