The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Children’s character no-slip slipper socks

Children’s slippers socks from Walmart, called “kids character slippers socks” with no slip bottom. The no slip bottom is made of about 20 separate, small round rubber/plastic pieces (about 1/4 diameter) glued onto bottom of slipper. After about a week of normal indoor wear by kids, the no slip bottom rubbery pieces began falling off. No one was aware of this until the baby found one and put it in her mouth. She began coughing and gagging, but was then able to vomit up the rubber piece. Once we saw what she had choked on, and looked on the ground and found a couple more pieces, we were able to figure out what they were. With my fingernail and very little force, I was able to easily remove several more of the no slip rubber/plastic pieces off the bottom of the slippers. Items were returned to Walmart.
