Emergency room Made Jul 6, 2012, sent to the company Aug 27, 2012, published by CPSC Sep 11, 2012
The product, in the report: Slippers (flip-flops)
(5/2012) The consumer had purchased a pair of rubber flip flops, size 7 (women-medium). After her purchase the consumer later put the shoes on and was walking down a flight of stairs. She suddenly slipped and fell down an entire flight of stairs. The consumer received abrasions to her right leg, right side of her face and a black eye. 911 was called by her husband and they came out. The consumer stated that she refused to go to the emergency room and EMS bandaged her up at her home.
When the consumer gathered herself she retrieved her flip flops and noticed that the bottom soles were fuzzy due to the felt attached. She had been wearing them outside all day and believes thats what caused the fuzziness at the sole.
The consumer contacted the retailer in Ellicott City, MD 2 days later, and was refunded her money for the slippers.
Note: The consumer stated that she went to various stores and noticed that all the rubber flip flops had felt at the sole.
