The product, in the report: Rainbow Sandals. Limited Edition - Men’s Single Layer Arch Custom Colors 1” Strap Navy color in size XL. SKU:301ALTD0NAVYMXL0

I purchased a pair of Rainbow Sandals. SKU:301ALTD0NAVYMXL0. They are the Limited Edition - Men’s Single Layer Arch Custom Colors 1” Strap. These sandals were purchased on April 24, 2025 at my local Rainbow dealer. After 4-5 days of wear, I began to develop a severe and spreading skin rash that is in perfect outline with the leather top straps. I stopped wear however the rash stopped spreading directly under the where the straps rest yet the rash began to be more sensitive, painful and impact daily activities. After further investigation rainbow rash has been noted by many rainbows consumers over social media and other product reporting agencies, independent of manufacture location, due color and leather type (Premier or Regular).

I contact rainbow via email on May 2nd and was advised to send in the sandals for a refund or replacement. I included photos of the now scabbing rash that is still in perfect outline where the straps rest across the foot. The rash is inhibiting walking and running without pain. Steroid Cream has not helped with treating the rash. Severe scarring and open wound on the top of my foot has started.

Rainbows failure to acknowledge the unsafe product line is unacceptable.

The product, in the report: Rainbow Sandals Men’s Size Large Mocha Color

Developed contact dermatitis after wearing Rainbow Sandals. The rash began after about a week of wearing the sandals. The rash pattern was distinctly under the sandal straps. The rash was painful, itchy, and weeping and I was unable to wear shoes for an extended period of time. The rash persisted for multiple weeks after I stopped wearing the sandals. I was surprised because I had owned a previous pair of Rainbow brand sandals and had never had any reaction to them. I had never had an allergy to any leather product prior to this incident or after.

The product, in the report: A double-ply pair of Rainbow Sandals. I do not know the name of the model, but I would consider it the standard, flagship model of Rainbows.

I recently purchased a pair of Rainbow Sandals. After a few weeks, I have developed a rather severe rash where the sandal strap comes into contact with my foot. I have been treated by my dermatologist with a topical steroid cream. I have worn Rainbows for 20+ years and never had this issue. I only wear Rainbows, and the rash aligns with the strapline perfectly, so there is no doubt in my mind where it originates. The rash itself is incredibly uncomfortable, and despite the steroid treatment, it has not yet abated.

The product, in the report: Sandals: Double Layer Premier Leather with Arch Support

I bought a pair of Premium Leather Expresso Double Layer Arch Sandals from Rainbow, Inc and experienced an intense burning and itching rash on my feet after wearing them. I had to seek out medical care and it took two months for the rash to finally clear up, in the meantime I experienced on and off periods of intense itching and pain, causing loss of sleep and issues wearing other shoes.

The product, in the report: Brown leather sandal, size 9.5-10.5. Classic Tan/Brown color.

I purchased Rainbow Sandals’ Men’s Leather Double Layer with Arch Wide Strap sandals. After a few weeks of wearing the sandals, I developed contact dermatitis at the places where the leather strap comes in contact with the tops of both of my feet. The rash is painful, itchy, and feels like a chemical burn.

I have never had this happen with other Rainbow sandals I’ve purchased. It’s my understanding that many of these Rainbow products are now made in China, using different safety standards than applicable to products manufactured in the U.S.

The product, in the report: I purchased from the Rainbow Sandals store on Amazon, order # [REDACTED]. The specific item is Rainbow Sandals Men’s Leather Single Layer Wide Strap with Arch, size 9.5-10.5, color Espresso/Rainbow.

    Hello,

I’m writing about a pair of Rainbow Sandals I purchased that have caused a red, itchy rash on the tops of my feet; just below where the sandal straps make contact with the foot.

I’ve bought and worn shoes from this brand for more than a decade and have never had an issue. But, this pair has caused a bad rash in the less than three weeks I’ve been waring them semi-regularly.

From some quick [REDACTED], this is not an uncommon occurrence with Rainbow Sandals as of late. A search for “rainbow sandals rash [REDACTED]” returns several posts from consumers complaining of a similar issue.

I have no known allergy to leather. The shoes did not get wet and were not subjected to any other abnormal wear.
