The product, in the report: Nike Alphafly 3, Men’s Road Racing Shoes, White/Pure Platinum/Obsidian Mist/Gridiron, Size M 11, Style FD8311-101. Purchased online at Nike.com on [REDACTED]. Order number [REDACTED].
Nike AlphaFly carbon-plated racing shoes. Worn for the first time during race preparation (3 speed/shakeout sessions) and on race day ([REDACTED], April 12, 2026). Immediately upon introduction of the shoes, I developed shin pain in my left leg. During the race, my left tibia fractured completely mid-stride with no external trauma. I required emergency surgery (intramedullary fixation) the following day. Medical costs approximately $44,000. A teammate independently reported a foot fracture from Nike AlphaFly shoes, and another reported Achilles aggravation. Peer-reviewed research documents that carbon-plated shoes shift biomechanical load to the tibia. No warning of this risk was provided at point of sale.
