The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, care not known

The product, in the report: Muck Boot Company Item No. MUHSM13-Hoser Mid Boot 13M/14W

I purchased these boots for my husband for Christmas 2013 but he did not wear them outside until we had several inches of snow in late January 2014. He wore the boots for one to two hours and noticed that they had worn the skin off an area on both of his legs. The damage to the left leg was worse than the right. I am attaching a copy of a photo of the injured area. I contacted the company where the boots were purchased and asked if they could be exchanged for another style. The company representative stated that they felt this was not a defect so they would not accept a return. I submitted a review for the MuckBoots.com website but it was not posted and the boot in question has been removed from the website. I have given up on trying to exchange the product or get any kind of satisfaction from the company. We feel that this product needs to come with a prominent warning that some sort of thick clothing should be worn on the legs under these boots. Otherwise other consumers may end up with injured legs. The Muck Boot Company does not seem to be concerned.
