The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Sep 2, 2024, sent to the company Sep 6, 2024, published by CPSC Sep 20, 2024

The product, in the report: Hiking boots

I bought new hiking boots from LL Bean. While wearing them, I got out of my car and found my feet locked together. I did not suffer an injury, but had I been driving, it could have lead to an accident.

The cause was the pull loop on my right book locked on to the oversized lace hook on my left shoe. Most boots are designed with less open lace hooks.

The product, in the report: L. L. Bean Streamside Cleat With Boa, Item: ZZ299528, Color/Style: Black, Size: M/L (8-10), Streamside Cleat With Boa

I was wearing a pair of L L Bean wading shoe grippers over my fishing wading shoes while fishing for steelhead in New York on the Salmon River. It was on April 14th 2021. My name is [REDACTED], I live at [REDACTED]. The two wading grippers are of poor design the links on them come apart after several uses, a link from one foot grabbed ahold of the tightening cable on the other foot causing me to trip. Because my feet were attached together I fell over quickly landing on some rocks along the shore of the river. I cracked a couple of ribs. If I had been crossing the river when this took place I may not be filing this incident report.
