The product, in the report: https://www.amazon.com/Kahtoola-MICROspikes-Footwear-Traction-Medium/dp/B00E81C9T2?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-d-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00E81C9T2
I was hiking on an icy trail with steep switchbacks and numerous fall exposures. I was wearing Kahtoola microspikes ( see link for product info). As I was hiking, the metal chain loop, that connects to the plastic, got caught on the shoelace metal hinge of the boot on my opposite foot. The result was a fall that lucky was upslope. If it has been a downslope fall I would have went off a steep cliff. The locking of my two feet together was so profound that I had to remove the microspike and struggle for several minutes to separate the two items.
This product is used in dangerous, steep, and icy terrain. The linking of two feet should not be possible in any way.
