The product, in the report: Grandco Brand sandals model number 25574D. This is a plastic flip-flop type of sandal with beaded detail on the straps. Mine is denim blue color.
I purchased a pair of Grandco brand beaded sandals on 06/01/11 at Lanas Boutique, 230 Culver St., Saugatuck, MI 49453. I wore these shoes less than an hour and they caused a very burning and itcy rash with big bumps all over the bottoms of my feet and on the sides where the straps touched my skin. I put them away for a couple of days and tried to wear them again and had exactly the same result. I do not have any latex or other known allergy to plastics and I have never had a reaction like this to shoes or cloting before in my life. I suspect it may be a phthalate reaction but do not know how to follow up on that. I contacted the store and they just said they don’t give any refunds. I didn’t ask for one because now I am home in New Jersey and I was really just concerned that they are selling an unsafe product. These are a new model for 2011 number 25574D and they are made in Taiwan. It was really the first week-end of the resort season in Michigan. The store clerk said they just got them in and they had a lot of them in other colors and sizes.
