  1. No one hurt

Made Jul 28, 2023, sent to the company Aug 1, 2023, published by CPSC Aug 15, 2023

The product, in the report: Gravity Defyer Tennis Shoes

I am concerned about Gravity Defyer tennis shoes. I had issues with the pair I bought in 2022 for tread falling apart making the shoes a trip hazard. This was reported to the California Attorney General’s Office and confirmed by letter May 18, 2023-[REDACTED]. The company has been unresponsive. Now I am even more concerned as the pair I bought in 2021 a twig managed to penetrate the sole and could’ve impaled my foot.

UPDATED ON 7/31/2023: [Here are the pics of the initial complaint for shoes bought in 2022. There is also a FTC Report [REDACTED] in addition to the California AG’s filing previously stated. I became more concerned in June 17, 2023 when the twig was able to penetrate the sole of the right shoe that were purchased in 2021. I have ordered shoes from Gravity Defyer since 2016, both of these pairs of shoes having failures were manufactured during COVID. Did something change? Were poor quality materials being used, did the manufacturing process change, what happened? While there were no injuries, the propensity for injury is significant in my opinion! The silence of this company is also EXTREMELY CONCERNING!!!]
