The product, in the report: FILA sculpt & tone black leather size 8

In Jan or Feb of 2012 I purchased a pair of FILA sculpt & tone shoes from Ross. They were very comfortable and I ended up wearing them as everyday shoes. Over spring break I began experiencing pain in my right hip. I had recently begun walking more and thought it was due to that. Over the summer it got so bad I had to go to an orthopedic specialist who injected cortisone into my hip and sent me to physical therapy. The physical therapist felt the problem was originating in my back and pelvis rather than my hip. I did get better but not all the way. I ended up having an MRI in November for which my out of pocket cost was 900 dollars, but nothing could be diagnosed from it. My hip has slowly been getting worse again, and finally last week my supervisor mentioned in passing that the shape up shoes were apparently hurting people. I went online to check and sure enough, there are numerous complaints of woman suffering the same symptoms I am. I can only hope that now that I know the source of the pain I’ll be able to heal without further medical intervention. I’ll never wear that pair of shoes again.

The product, in the report: FilaFit FILASPORT WALK-N-SCULPT-TR walking shoes

I bought the Fila Fit walking shoes last fall and in less than a month I had damaged my knee. In April 2011 I had to have a partial knee replacement. I had never had any knee problems until I tried wearing these shoes. When I asked my Orthapedic surgeon about them, he told me it was quite possible the shoes had something to do with my knee problems.

The shoe model was FilaSport WALK-N-SCULPT-TR.

    Thank you,

The product, in the report: toning shoes, size 8 1/2

I am 58 years old female. “I bought the Toning shoes made from Fila Manufacturer in May, 2011, to work in. The shoes looked cute and they were marked down. There were not any instructions with the shoes. I put on the shoes for the first time and walked in the Mall for about an hour or so .I couldn’t walk in the street that day, because the weather was bad. It was raining very hard outside. In my way home I went to my friend’s home. Going down stairs, I lost balance and fell from the top to the bottom of stairs and injured (destroyed totally) my right knee. It was a night mare. I was in terrible pain .One of my friends rushed me to the nearest Hospital in Emergency Room for a night. Next morning I saw an orthopedic surgery ,and I had MRI and X-Rays .The doctor told me that, many fractures of the posterior aspect of the medial and lateral tibial plateaus as well ad a displaced medial meniscal tear, ACL tear, partial PCL tear and fibular collateral ligament tear, and a lateral meniscus tear. Also I have twisted the right ankle. I never had a problem with the knee in the past. The Doctor from the local Hospital, recommended me to go immediately to a Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgery specialist in Boston. The Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgery specialist told me the same as above: “You have major injuries to my right knee, including many fractures of the posterior aspect of the medial and lateral tibial plateaus as well ad a displaced medial meniscal tear, ACL tear, partial PCL tear and fibular collateral ligament tear, and a lateral meniscus tear.” After the treatment for the fractures and inflammation, I had the surgery three months later. The Sports Medicine orthopedic Surgery, also told me that the knee can not be repaired. This is the worst knee injury than can happen, and your knee is going to be stiff all your life-he said. The knee will not have any balance and the doctor will design a custom brace for knee protection .I ha ve to keep it on my knee for the rest of my life. I had only arthroscopy surgery for cleaning the torn meniscus. That’s all. I have been with a brace and crutches for about six months, and I wasn’t able to get out of home. I am still in pain and under medication. As result of this injury I have a permanent disability in my right leg, and permanent loss of function. I have been out of work for about six months and I will not be able to work for the rest of my life. I never can be a healthy and active person as I used to be. I am granted with Social Security Disability. These shoes are dangerous and don’t have enough support. If the company had heard about the recall from the injuries of the [REDACTED] shoes, they shouldn’t mark the price down to sell them quick. They should take the shoes off market. Many people don’t know anything about the damage that this shoes cause.

The product, in the report: Fila Walk and Sculpt shoes

I have been wearing the Fila walk and sculpt toning shoes for about a year now. On August 8th, 2011, I was on my way to a training for work and could not put pressure on my left leg. My left knee was in so much pain, it felt like I had damaged my miniscus (which I had surgery on about 4 years ago). I couldn’t figure out how my knee was so sore since I hadn’t done anything to damage it. when I got home, I took off the shoes and put on a brace. The next day the pain was just as bad and I did not put on the shoes, instead I wore slippers for the next 2 days. By the 2nd day of wearing slippers, the pain was gone. So on Friday, August 12, 2011, I put my shoes back on and went to work. Again, by the time I came home, my knee was in pain. I googled my shoes to see if anyone had any complaints, and found a entire listing of people with ankle, knee, hip, and back problems.
