The product, in the report: Digitsole Heat Series Insole
Digitsole is a shoe insole product controlled by a Bluetooth App that controls the amount of warming the insole creates from the imbedded rechargeable battery. Apparently, an App update failed to establish a Bluetooth link to the Digitsole and prompted the user to contact the company regarding an error/failure. Upon contacting the company (HQ in France, but distributed/sold in the USA), the company responded with the following information on 1/4/16: “After thorough investigation, we have identified a technical problem in one of our first production batches of Digitsole Warm Series V3, and your product is unfortunately part of it. Your current product is unsafe to use : you must stop using it immediately as there is a serious risk of overheating - even when the heating function is not being used. We are working to resolve this issue.” When provided the information that the product was acquired in the US, the company responded on 1/5/16: “Thank you for your response. As the purchase was made from [REDACTED], our colleague in the US, I will forward your messages to him and he will follow up on this matter.” [REDACTED] has not responded and further inquiries to the company (www.digitsole.com) have gone unanswered.
