Emergency room Made Aug 21, 2026, sent to the company Aug 26, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 11, 2026
The product, in the report: Cleaning Helpers Bear Cleaning Slipper Genie, Brown. A pair of brown cleaning slippers with a bear design and microfiber cleaning material on the soles. The slippers are worn on the feet while walking and are intended to pick up dust, dirt, and pet hair from floors.
On August 15, 2026, I was wearing Cleaning Helpers Bear Cleaning Slipper Genie slippers while walking down my indoor vinyl stairs and mopping as I went. The stairs were dry and there was no wetness involved. I had already mopped approximately six steps and had approximately ten steps remaining. I stepped down onto the next stair with my right foot and suddenly slipped and fell. The slippers came off my feet during the fall and were found at the bottom of the stairs. I landed directly on the edge of the stair on my tailbone, causing immediate severe pain that took my breath away. I initially had difficulty standing and was wobbling. Immediately afterward, I experienced nausea, dizziness, sweating and feeling overheated, and loss of bladder control. I went to the emergency room and was there for approximately 11 hours. X rays were performed and I was diagnosed with a bruised tailbone. The tailbone was not fractured. I was told to expect significant pain for approximately three to four weeks and was instructed to use ice and heat, limit activities, use a cushion when able to sit, follow up with my primary care provider, and return for further care if I did not improve. Since the incident, I have had significant difficulty walking, sitting, sleeping, bending, using the bathroom, driving, working, and caring for my one year old child. I currently have pain of about 5 out of 10 at rest and about 8 out of 10 when walking.
