The product, in the report: Target Toddler Girl’s Circo® Donita Canvas shoes - Pink, size 6
My wife and I purchased a pair of shoes for our 18 month old daughter just under two weeks ago from a local Target Store. The shoes Toddler Girl’s Circo® Donita Canvas - Pink (also found on their online retail portal at http://www.target.com/p/toddler-girl-s-circo-donita-canvas-pink/-/A-14291376#prodSlot=large_1_22 ) were only worn once and used very gently on a trip to the grocery store. Today, when getting ready to put them on our daughter, I noticed a small piece of metal on the floor where the shoes were sitting. Unfortunately she noticed it at the same time I did and went for it. Luckily I grabbed it before she did because what I found was a grommet that the hook & loop straps slip through to fasten the shoe on a child’s foot. This piece of flimsy metal is very sharp, jagged, and very small. Easily capable of cutting the skin of a child open or worse cutting through the walls of the digestive tract if swallowed.
I inspected the other grommets and noticed that they are not glued, or fastened securely as most are. They are held in place by a small flimsy metal tab that is slightly bent through the opposite side of the two piece grommet to hold it on the shoe. All of which can easily be popped off with a finger nail.

The product, in the report: toddler sandals size 10T tan fabric with navy blue and brown stripes, brown elastic back strap, brown shoe bed
I purchased a pair of toddler sandals from target circo brand.I put them on my son and the elastic band stretched out and snapped. He fell flat on his face causing multiple lacerations/cuts and bruising.I informed the store but they informed me unless there were large number of children hurt the company would do nothing.
