The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Birkenstock’s Women’s Yao Birkibuc Slide Sandals

I have purchased Birkenstock’s YAO sandals from American Eagle on June 11. Wearing these sandals on June 25th, both of my feet have been cut and we’re bleeding due to the material and manufacturing of the shoes, leaving permanent scars on my body. I have walked in the Birkenstock’s YAO sandals for a brief three hours on the [REDACTED], and the straps of the sandals were digging into my skin as I adjusted and readjusted the straps. [REDACTED] did not help stop the bleeding.

In the Birkenstock’s mission statement, the Birkenstock’s company states “... healthy footwear is important to everyone because it can contribute to happiness and well-being...” This is very misleading. Their footwear causes more absolute damage on a person’s feet than wellness.

These permanent marks on my feet are incurable due to scarring. A shoe that promises healthy footwear should provide healthy footwear.
