The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

The product, in the report: adidas Mens Swift Run 1.0 Lace Up Sneakers Shoes Casual

I purchased adidas mens swift run 1.0 lace up sneakers through the official store on Amazon. The first time I wore them, the eyelet that holds the laces broke. It was clearly a manufacturing defect, luckily I was not injured but my foot was no longer secure in the shoe due to the sudden breaking of the laces. Amazon reviews revealed that it is a common failure. Adidas had me send the shoes for replacement, but instead they kept them and gave me less than half of my money back. I only have few photos and feel they wanted to destroy the evidence of their negligence. The shoe is still offered for sale. With this being such a prominent issue, i feel that others may not be as lucky as me. Adidas customer service took absolutely no responsibility and seem to have zero concern about the issue

This is about adidasProduct: Adidas Ultraboost running shoes Issue: Severe quality and safety concern. After normal use, the shoe design caused significant friction and abrasion on my feet, resulting in bleeding. The materials and construction appear defective, with poor cushioning and inadequate support around the heel and upper. Hazard: Risk of injury to consumers due to sharp seams, poor fit, and inadequate padding. The product may cause cuts, bleeding, or other foot injuries during regular wear. Incident: While wearing the shoes for routine treadmill walking, I experienced bleeding from the left ankle of my foot. This was not due to misuse, extreme activity, or unusual conditions. Outcome: Injury required immediate attention and discontinuation of product use. Request: Investigation into product safety, potential recall consideration, and corrective action to prevent further consumer harm.

The product, in the report: Sneakers

The consumer indicates that he gifted the pair of sneakers to his son and when he tried it on around their home, he realized that the sole was separating from the shoes, creating a fall hazard. The consumer tried to return the shoes back to the retailer, but they informed him that the shoes were in unsellable conditions. The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative he spoke to informed him that [REDACTED] is not an authorized retailer for their shoes. The consumer is unsure if he will be keeping the sneakers for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

The product, in the report: Reebok Easy Tone Shoes, size 7

I purchased Reebok Easy Tones when they were first introduced a few years ago. Not long after, I was wearing the shoes at my home as I did housework. While stepping down, my knee gave out and later found out the fall had torn my meniscus on my right knee. I suspected the shoes played a part in the fall, but wasn’t sure. I had surgery to repair the meniscus. After a couple years of not wearing the Easy Tones, I pulled them out again, thinking to myself that I am in pretty good shape, and again just working around at my job, nothing crazy or running. Again, my knee gave out and I just got the results of my MRI, a torn meniscus and torn ACL. I will have to have surgery later next week to repair the ACL and meniscus. I am confident that the shoes were a contributing factor to my injuries and plan to throw them away!

The product, in the report: Adidas Even tone athletic shoues

Purchased Addidas Eventone athletic shoes because I needed a decent pair of walking shoes for working as a veterinary technician. After wearing the shoes continually for a few weeks on my job which requires me to stand for 10 hours a day, my back starting to hurt and then one day my knee was injured with no accident occurring. I could not put any weight on my leg and had to take off of work and go to a doctor. My leg was diagnosed with an injured meniscus and my back was also diagnosed with a muscle spasm. I then had to go to a chiropractor every other day for a week. I have since stopped wearing the shoes.
