The product, in the report: 2 person sauna
Our electric sauna, made by VitalSaunas, caught fire at 2:30 a.m. on Monday June 16 at our summer home in [REDACTED].
Our dog heard the smoke detector and barked, thinking it was the front door bell and woke us up in upstairs bedrooms. We went down to find the sauna in flames, on the left side, back side, and right side where the heaters are located.
The house burned completely to the ground.
We are located 100’ from the water of Long Island Sound, and there is constant breezes from the water which are corrosive to metal and circuit boards. The circuit board on the sauna sat on the roof unprotected except for [REDACTED] panels on top.
The sauna was plugged in and had not been used in over a month.
