No one hurt Made Aug 11, 2026, sent to the company Aug 24, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 9, 2026
The product, in the report: Nurecover steam kettle. 3L Sauna Steamer, 1200W Fast Heat, Remote, 9 Levels, 99-Min. 11 x 9 x 9 inches, 3.6 pounds. Color, black. ASIN B0FGTFCXH8. Item model number KG-XZY. Manufacturer Yongkang Kuaigong Industry&Trade Co.,Ltd. This was the second steamer they sent me because the first one leaked steam out of the lid. The details about the product I am taking from Amazon since Nurecover no longer provides any information about the product on their website.
I purchased a Nurecover steam sauna in November 2023 for home use. The unit includes a water-heating kettle that sits outside the sauna enclosure and delivers steam through a tube. In 2024 the water kettle was leaking steam through the top so I was sent a replacement. In July 2026 the unit failed. The plastic housing surrounding the control panel and digital display of the water-heating kettle had visibly melted and scorched. The deformation and charring are consistent with sustained overheating at the control assembly rather than normal wear. The unit gave no fault indication, alarm, or automatic shutoff before the damage occurred, I discovered it visually when I went to use it. I always used this product exactly as described in the instructions. I always turned it off and unplugged it immediately after a 20 minute usage as I exited. There were no injuries involved in the malfunction. I reported the failure to Nurecover on July 16, 2026, describing it explicitly as a possible safety concern and including photographs. In the company’s reply, and in every subsequent message over the following four weeks, no acknowledgment of the safety issue was made. The response addressed only warranty status and replacement logistics. The company informed me the model has been discontinued, but did not state whether the discontinuation was related to any defect. Because the company indicated a replacement would be sent, I disposed of the defective unit and no longer have it. I retain photographs of the melted housing and the complete email correspondence. They wasted weeks of my time with bad communication, and insisted that I pay for the replacement since the failure came after the warranty date. I ended up paying for a replacement, and they sent me a different unit that does not have the proper tube size for the sauna model I have. Now they won’t pay for the return shipping needed to cover for their incompetence. I am reporting this so the failure is on record, and others can make more informed decisions regarding doing business with this company. My concern is the fire risk, compounded by the absence of any fail-safe. This is a mains powered heating appliance that operates unattended on a floor surface for the duration of a session. Enough heat was generated at the control housing to melt and char plastic. Nothing shut the unit down or indicated a fault.
