Emergency room Made Mar 26, 2025, sent to the company Apr 2, 2025, published by CPSC Apr 16, 2025
The product, in the report: Aduro Percussion Massage Gun Deep Tissue Muscle Massage Gun. Item model number : Elite Recovery. Package Dimensions : 11.1 x 8.78 x 4.41 inches; 3.86 Pounds
While the Aduro Massage Gun was plugged in and charging, it began to smoke. I was concerned it might ignite the carpet underneath, so I attempted to move it to a safer location. As I picked it up, it suddenly exploded in my hand. This resulted in second-degree burns up my left arm, burns on my right arm, and damage to the carpet. I was rushed to the ER and also will need to follow up with the Burn clinic in a few days. The explosion was forceful and unexpected, and the device posed a serious fire and injury hazard.
