How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 2 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Hair Dryer

The consumer says she noticed the hair dyer cut on and off. While drying her hair she says that flames shot out of the space between the cord and the handle.

She threw it to the ground. There was a horrible smell. She unplugged the cord out of the wall and it stopped. She says there are no visible damages to the hair dryer. There was no damage done to her home.

The product, in the report: Pink polka dot Zoe hair dryer

I have a Pink Polka Dot Zoe hairdryer that I bought a few months ago. Soon after buying it, I noticed it would only work sometimes and finally decided that there was a short in the cord as you could turn the cord certain ways and it would work again. It seemed to run particularly hot whenever it did run. Yesterday sparks started shooting out of the cord where it enters a rubber covered area near the dryer. It is dangerous and a fire hazard. I believe it should be recalled. Now I am out the money I paid for the dryer and without a dryer as well.
