The product, in the report: hot pink color blow dryer Style # 73827
The submitter is reporting the hair dryer for posing a fire hazard.
She was using the unit to blow dry her daughter’s hair and she had the heat level on medium. After approximately 5-10 minutes of use the unit exploded and flames were coming from the unit. She immediately turned it off and the fire stopped. She indicated that the fire and burn damages are where the handle connects to the power cord.
She contacted the firm (866-376-8880) last week and left a detailed voicemail describing the incident but she has not received a call back.
The submitter returned the unit to the retailer and obtained a refund.

The product, in the report: The product is bright pink hairdryer with a silver handle. There is a silver T3 logo on the side of the body of the hairdryer. The handle has a cool shot button, a 3 toggle heat setting (low, medium, high) and a 3 toggle air speed setting (high, low, off).
I was using the hairdryer to dry my hair as I had for the past two years. While using the hairdryer, white flames came shooting out of the bottom of the handle of the hairdryer almost burning my wrist/arm. I dropped the hairdryer on the vanity counter and the unit ceased functioning.

No one hurt Made Feb 4, 2014, sent to the company Feb 12, 2014, published by CPSC Feb 28, 2014
The product, in the report: T3 Bespoke hair dryer serial numberBFS11090811909
I was using my T3 Bespoke hairdryer, with the serial numberBFS11090811909. I was blow drying my hair in the usual manner. The motor slowed, and before I could put the unit down to check it, there were two loud pops with sparks coming out of the unit. The GFI cut the dryer off, but the cord (where it meets the dryer) was smoking afterward and had clearly been burned. The hair dryer is only a few years old, and this should not have happened. This is dangerous and could easily injure someone and/or cause a fire.

Hurt, care not known Made Jan 6, 2014, sent to the company Jan 14, 2014, published by CPSC Jan 30, 2014
The product, in the report: T3 Micro full size hair dryer
Please initiate a hair dryer recall on T3 Micro hair dryers. I purchased two T3 hair dryers, a full size and a travel size, and BOTH dryers had serious electrical malfunctions within a year of purchase. First, the full size dryer had electrical issues and was replaced under warranty. No less than a year later, the warranty replacement full size dryer began arcing and sparking from the nozzle, making loud snapping noises and gave me a shock. I sent it back for warranty replacement 3 weeks ago.
I began using my T3 travel dryer (purchased the very same day as the full size) and it caught fire while I was drying my hair! First, the dryer began turning itself on and off. Then, a flame jetted out of the handle area and it started smoking, filling my apartment with hazardous, irritating smoke. I had to open all the windows and doors to clear it because it burned my eyes, nose, and lungs, and smelled terrible. It also made me be late to work.
I requested a full refund from T3 for both dryers and the shipping costs I incurred, yet they will not help. Instead, they keep asking me for the serial number, which is too small and illegible for me to read.
I believe you must force recall on these dryers. There is quite obviously a serious wiring fault and they put consumers’ lives and safety in real danger!
