The product, in the report: Hair dryer, ionic, tourmaline
I have had this hair dryer since 1 Feb, 2013 and it has been fine and not used very often (1 - 2 x / week max). Yesterday morning it combusted - I’m not sure where and have no idea why. It was at the bend in the device, I believe (at the motor site) and made a loud noise, there were some flames. I dropped it in the sink, which had a little water in it and the fire went out. The smell was so acrid and disgusting that I threw up. Luckily I was next to the loo! Our electricity supply is normal - there was no surge or reason for this to happen. The device had worked properly up until this moment. It cost $125, which is crazy for me to have paid, but makes me even more annoyed! I am sure you are wondering but yes I had another in the house to use to dry my hair.

The product, in the report: standard hair dryer
I own a T3 Micro Inc hair dryer that was manufactured in 2010. Yesterday, the device’s power cord melted and began sparking under normal use. I did a google search for this issue and found many people had posted concerns about this exact issue. I think these products may be manufactured poorly and have a tendency to catch fire under normal use conditions.
