The product, in the report: Hand held Dryer (Ceiling)
The caller stated that the hand held hair dryers hangs from the ceiling at hair salon. While it was in use the dryer sparked and her 27 year old daughter received minor burns in between her thumb. The sparks emitted from the handle, control knobs and the vent of the unit. The hand held dryers are repaired once annually by the firm, because they stop working (the motor burns out). She has had the dryers for 5 years.
She is concerned that there is no warning label to advise that these dryers should be replaced after a certain time to prevent this incident.
5/2013 The manufacturer was contacted and she was informed that they were not at fault and she should contact the electrician who installed them.
Dryer was maintenanced a week or two prior to this report
