The product, in the report: Black glittery hair dryer by Martino Model Number MC121
This morning while using my Martino Hair Dryer Model No MC121 it started making a loud noise and smoked. Quickly unplugged the dryer and there was a rattle in the smoking dryer. When I got home this evening after work, I got a flashlight out to see if I could see what the problem was. The fan is broken off inside and that is the rattle. This hair dryer was a Christmas gift to me from [REDACTED]. She said she purchased it off of [REDACTED] or [REDACTED] (she couldn’t remember which one.) Extremely scary to have a loud pop and smoke coming our of the dryer when drying the hair.

Hurt, no treatment Made Mar 8, 2017, sent to the company Mar 17, 2017, published by CPSC Mar 31, 2017
The product, in the report: Its a lightweight Martino hair dryer purchased from HSN TV shopping network. Model No. MC121. It is sparkly brown with gold lettering with a gold lion decal on the side by the vent part.
I was using the Martino hair dryer to dry my hair by my right ear ( I was bent over with my hair hanging down to dry the underside of my hair first) when I smelled a burning smell and then saw large glowing sparks out the corner of my right eye. I then saw sparks falling to the floor onto my bathroom rug and stopped using the hair dryer. I turned the hair dryer off and unplugged it. I think continued to smell the burning smell and my right ear was very red and painful and noticed it was bleeding behind the top part of my ear.
