On Monday, December 4,2017 at around 7:45 in the morningI was getting ready for work. I had taken my shower and gotten dressed. I went back into the bathroom to dry my hair. My hair dryer was a ConAir Infiniti Pro. I turned it on to dry my hair and I heard a loud pop. I quickly realized that the dryer was on fire as well as the front of my shirts. I threw the dryer down and began trying to pull my shirts off. My shirts as well as my bra were burning. When I got them off and got the fire out I hat burns on my chest and both breast. It had burned my shirt and holes in my bra.

The product, in the report: Bronze and black electric air dryer with three levels of heat and two air speed levels.

My wife was using the electric hair dryer in the bathroom. Suddenly, fire came out the end of the hairdryer. She quickly unplugged the hairdryer and threw it across the bathroom such that it would land on the tile and not catch anything on the tile. She was not injured. The dryer is intact upon examination but there are scorch marks when looking at the discharge end of the dryer. This was a close call. I also checked to see if the lint trap was overloaded and it was not.

The product, in the report: Blow Dryer

This caller is reporting her hair dryer purchased in WV approximately sometime during 2014. She had no problems with the hair dryer until June 2nd, 2015 when she began blowing her hair to dry it but within a few moments after turning the dryer on flames and sparks began flying out of the dryer. She turned it off quickly but then realized that her hair was on fire. She turned the water on at the tub, began running water over her head to extinguish the fire and at the same time realized that coils from the dryer were in her hair and that the hair at the crown of her head was completely gone. She has redness and blisters also in the crown area. The caller was treated at her Dermatologist office June 2nd, 2015. She contacted the manufacturer, she spoke with [REDACTED] who took her report then advised her that someone from their claims department would be in touch with her. The caller researched the manufacturer and this dryer on the web and found a recall; http://finance.yahoo.com/news/infiniti-pro-hair-dryers-259-100000581.html I could locate no recall at cpsc.gov or saferproducts.gov although I did find reports for this same dryer. The caller is reporting this as a severe fire hazard and is asking for restitution for expenses, medical as well as pain and suffering.
